Croydon will focus on how the area looks after children’s health and wellbeing with a particular focus on child development. The work will cover pre-natal care to 19 years old, with particular focus on early intervention up to age 7.

Discussions are underway with a wider group of organisations within Croydon’s Local Strategic Partnership covering the public, private and third sectors, and contacts have been established in a number of government agencies including the Department for Work and Pensions, the Police, Fire Service, and Criminal Justice Agencies.
To utilise Croydon’s strong track record of service transformation and partnership working to develop a new framework for the re-design of early years services around the needs of children and new parents. A framework that identifies the added value that different sectors locally can bring, as well as the different tiers of government. Overall, Croydon will develop a compelling case for shifting resources upstream into preventative early years services, co-ordinated at a local level and designed around the needs of young people.
