Max Wide FRSA
Max Wide FRSA is an experienced and dedicated transformation professional, accomplished in brining lasting change to people, organisations and places.
Max spent his early career working with people – benefits claimants, the homelessness, adults leaving care services, and people with learning difficulties. For a decade he worked initially in training and then in development roles in social and health care services in London, before moving to into corporate roles in best value and leadership development.
Max led the work of Solace Enterprises in leadership and cultural change, before joining the private sector, working with BT Global Services, then with ImPower, and EY, before rejoining the public sector. He has been a strategic director leading transformation in Barnet, Suffolk and Bristol City Councils as well as helping to merge the Future Cities and Transport Catapults to form the Connected Places Catapult.
Max is now a transformation advisor working alongside Chief Executives and their leadership teams to help them design and drive the delivery of savings and change programmes, local government reorganisation and public service reform. He specialises in applied programmes that work in real time to fundamentally redesign services, punctuated by modular learning inputs that are focussed on organisational and individual development.
Currently, for the Leadership Centre , he is the programme anchor of the Innovation Places Leadership Academy focussing on the developing leaders of place based eco-systems. He is also working to develop the South Yorkshire Leadership Network as part of the Combined Authority.
Last, but by no means least Max, is a passionate advocate and practitioner of hyper local approaches, working with on the devolution of powers, assets and responsibilities to town and parish councils in Frome in Somerset.
