Health Integration: The Best Way to Secure Better Outcomes? looks at the weak track record of many, many attempts to integrate health provision, and asks if this isn’t the wrong approach entirely.
Concluding that health integration focuses on “sorting out the back office”, the report finds that this usually leaves out citizens entirely. Instead, it argues, a renewed look at “Population Health” approaches trialled in the UK and USA has a far greater chance of bridging the gap between health provision and patient demand, particularly in light of the unprecedented demands on the NHS.
