We are delighted to extend our warmest congratulations to David Lloyd, Chair of the Leadership Centre’s Board, on being awarded an OBE in His Majesty King Charles III’s New Year’s Honours List. This well-deserved recognition reflects David’s outstanding contributions to public service and leadership across a distinguished career.
David’s journey in public service began long before his time at the Leadership Centre. He served as the Hertfordshire Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) from 2012 to 2024, becoming the first person to hold this role when it replaced the former police authorities. Prior to his time as PCC, David’s career was a tapestry of leadership roles in local government and business.
In 2016 he joined the Board of the Leadership Centre, becoming Chair in 2021, a position from which he continues to demonstrate his passion for fostering strong, effective leadership and empowering leaders across the public sector to address some of society’s most complex challenges.
Chief Executive, Mark Rogers, expressed his congratulations: “David’s OBE is a well-deserved acknowledgment of his long and distinguished career in public service. His deep knowledge, expertise, and extensive network have been invaluable in helping the Leadership Centre have the greatest possible impact. We are grateful for his dedication and delighted to see his contributions recognised in this way.”
David said, “I am delighted to have received this nomination and incredibly grateful to all those people who have supported me in my various roles over many years – their help and friendship has sustained me and made my life much easier. I hope that we will continue to work together for many more years.”
