Andrew Darnton

Andrew is a researcher and practitioner in behaviour change and system change. He started out as a desk researcher for the UK Government, and developed a reputation in behaviour change, authoring the first guidance for HM Treasury in 2008. He then designed a new practical model (ISM) which has become the Scottish Government’s tool of choice. More recently Andrew co-created the Revaluation process for measuring change in complex systems. Andrew applies these methods and more to ‘intractable’ whole system policy challenges including climate change, biodiversity, and obesity. Andrew holds two Fellowships, one for his behaviour change work at UWE (Bristol), and the other for his work on Revaluation, in the ESRC-funded Centre for the Evaluation of Complexity Across the Nexus (CECAN) at the University of Surrey.
